Ironhide is known as the cantankerous weapons specialist and military strategist of the Autobots in the Transformers franchise.He made his first appearance in the original Transformers animated series in the episode Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye: Part 1 (#1.1). His alternate form was that of a red mini van, a Nissan Onebox Cherry Vannette to be exact. He was voiced by Peter Cullen.Ironhide was also one of the five Autobots featured in 2007's live action film version Transformers from director Michael Bay. But rather than transforming into a red mini van, as he did in the original animated series, Ironhide's alternate form was that of a black GMC Topkick pick-up truck. As always, Ironhide was portrayed as always ready for a fight and with a bit of an itchy trigger finger.
